What is Dash Smart Key?
Dash aims to bring superior guest experience to our members allowing their smartphone to become their room keys. Start unlocking your door by downloading the “Dash Living” app on iOS or Android platforms and go digital #dashliving!
When will my room key be available?
Key access will only be activated on the day of your arrival and when your room is ready for check-in. Standard check-in time is at 15:00 Hong Kong local time. You will receive a smart key from the Dash Living app when your key is ready*. Please ensure you check the validity of your room key. *Data connection on your smartphone must be enabled to receive your key*Please ensure you enable Bluetooth on your smartphone.
How do I get my smart key?
You must download the “Dash Living” app and login with the credentials sent in your pre-arrival email* so we can enable your digital access. We recommend you download the app at least 5 days before check-in to ensure a smooth experience. The Dash Community Team will enable your room key within 48 hours of your check-in date. *Your pre-arrival email will be sent to you 7 days prior to your arrival date.
What mobile device settings are required for Dash Smart Key?
- Push notifications = enabled
- Bluetooth = on
- App location permission = allowed
- Airplane mode = off
How do I unlock my door using Dash Smart Key?
- Make sure your device settings are correct
- Open the app
- Place your phone near the door lock
- Press the unlock button
How does it work? Is it safe?
Dash Living employs Bluetooth Low Energy for communication between your phone and the door lock. The room key is securely sent from our system to the Dash Living app at the registered and verified smartphone. All data transmission and the room key itself are encrypted and secured against cloning.
I don’t have a smartphone. How do I access my room?
Don’t worry, our Dash Community Team can get you a key card. Just let us know ahead of time so we can ensure a seamless check-in for you.
Do I need internet access?
Internet / data access is not needed when you use the app to open the door. However, Internet / data connection during the initial installation phase and to receive your key upon check-in is necessary.
I am staying longer, but my key shows “Expired”?
Dash Smart Key requires a data update every 7 days for security purposes. You can refresh / update your room key by going to “Settings > Clear cache” when you are connected to Wi-Fi or data network.
If I don’t want to use the Dash Smart Key, can I get a traditional key card?
Yes. We provide an RFID key card per registered guest per room, available inside your “Starter Pack”. Be sure to peek inside and read all about our services & offers to Dash Members, made available in your room upon check-in.
I have a friend / family member visiting and need to get access for them. How can I do that?
Feel free to reach out to our Dash Community Team to provide an additional Dash Smart Key or an extra RFID card.
What happens to the room key once I check out?
The key will automatically expire at the standard check out time at 12:00 noon time or subject to specific departure arrangements.
I extended my stay. How do I update my key?
For Dash Smart Key, your key will be updated within 10 minutes upon your confirmed extension. You can refresh / update your room key by going to “Settings” > Clear cache” when you are connected to Wi-Fi or data network. For RFID cards, the Dash Community Team will arrange delivery should they be requested.
Is it compatible with Apple Watch / Samsung Gear?
This option is currently unavailable, but stay tuned!
Do all mobile devices and smartphones work with Dash Keyless?
Devices with the following specifications are compatible with Dash Smart Key:
- iOS 8.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
- Android 4.3 or later. Compatible with Samsung Galaxy, HTC, Sony, LG & more.
Red light on my door lock
Red light is a no-no, meaning the door lock is denying you access. Please ensure you are at the correct door or that the time is after 15:00 if it’s your day of check-in. As always, our Dash Community Team will gladly assist if you run into difficulties accessing your room.
Four red lights on my door lock
Four consecutive red lights mean that the door lock battery is running low but will still operate and open to the authorized guests. Please share this information with the Dash Community Team to have the battery replaced.
