Dashplorer Guide to Farrer Park
Welcome to the guide for Farrer Park, the first area for you to explore as a Dashplorer! Why did we choose Farrer Park as the first area in Singapore to be featured? Well, that’s because this area is not only culturally-rich, it’s also located in the central region of our country. So, aside from tall modern buildings, you can also expect plenty of shophouses that are as unique as they are artistic 🎨
Stepping into Farrer Park is like seeing art come to life. Think huge murals on the walls of buildings and colourful lights lining the street at night 🤩 Itching to explore this fascinating area? Let’s get right into it with these hidden gems we found in Farrer Park that we can’t wait for you to fall in love with!

MAMA DIAM

Do you remember the mama shops from your childhood? A bar like none other, Mama Diam has a shopfront that looks just like these mama shops. Mama shops are convenience stores usually found in the void decks of Singapore’s HDB flats in the 1980s to early 90s. Hiding behind this nostalgia-inducing front is a speakeasy bar that serves drinks inspired by our local favourites (with a twist!). You can travel back in time to the stress-free days with a glass of Milo Old Fashioned or reconnect with classics through the Sng Mei (sour plum) Potion topped with haw flakes 🍸

At Bar Stories, you’ll feel like you’re home. The interior has a minimalist style with off-white tones, giving off a cozy and homely vibe. But what sets Bar Stories apart from other bars is their lack of a cocktail menu. The mixologist will customise your drink(s) according to your ‘mood, taste and palette’, making sure the drink is one-of-a-kind and unique to you. This intimate service promises you a sense of belonging in this bar 🏠

“As someone who came from France, I found myself missing my hometown food and though Ginett gives French food a twist, they’re still very much able to satisfy my craving. It helps that the interior is very intimate with the orange-ish lighting.”

JIA BIN (KLANG) BAK KUT TEH
We can’t introduce good food in Farrer Park without mentioning our local delight – bak kut teh, especially this highly recommended one by a Dasher! Jia Bin’s signature dish may be the traditional herbal bak kut teh but they boast a variety of other dishes like dry bak kut teh, spicy pork belly and hua diao wine chicken 🍖
“Their herbal bak kut teh may be popular, but what made me their regular customer is the spicy pork belly. It’s so sinful yet soooo good.”
